Why The Common Grove

The Common Grove is a community of women working together to advocate for a more equitable world for people.

The Common Grove is a growing ecosystem for awareness and belonging. It’s a shared space, both real and digital, where we come to reflect, connect, and grow together. Through honest dialogue, creative expression, and wearable conversation prompts, the community plants seeds of curiosity that evolve into collective action.

Here, change takes root in relationship.

Grace Over Gotcha

Our guiding principle

Grace Over Gotcha is the corner stone of all of the work that we do.

“How we advocate in this space is as important, and often times more important than what we are talking about when we are speaking to people about advocacy.” — Dr. Nikki Lanier

Ways to think about this principle: Grace Over Gotcha

  • is about extending grace to others, recognizing that we’re all learning and growing when it comes to navigating across lines of difference.

  • fights against cancel culture, and invites us to walk with people as we are all learning and growing.

  • is a way to reframe the way we approach difficult conversations or people we don’t necessarily see eye to eye with. It allows us to stop and think about what we believe about people and approach conversations from a place of grace.
