We are intentional in the language we use because we are intentional in the way we think about and do the work of advocating for race and gender-based equity.
Activism focuses on changing systems. It is often loud and confrontational. Activism asks, "What systems need to change and how can I leverage my power to see it happen?"
Advocacy is quiet and relational. Advocacy asks, “How does this issue affect real people I know?”
Both are important. We believe that everyone should be an advocate, but not everyone will be an activist.
If you care about people, you already belong here.
